CONGRATULATIONS to all the boys on a great season.

Glenorden were never going to lose this grand final. We could see it in the rooms before the game that the team was determined not to let all their hard work through out the year go to waste. From the night we had a chat at training right through to the end of the season the boys were committed to do the hard work to get the reward.

On to the game and the boys were switched on from the start with Sammy Walker playing an inspired first quarter up forward, with Fish in the midfield. The boys were great, continually getting the ball into the forward line, but just not finishing off. Only kicking just the two goals.

The second quarter was much the same with the boys playing great footy. Jarred and Scotty were proving to be a great combination up forward and West Footscray were always going to find it hard to score, with Chris playing a great game behind the ball. The midfield were totally dominant for the whole first half with Corey and Blake teaming up well together.

The second half was totally different as West was determined to get back into the game. The boys had to fight to hold on to there lead and Don was excellent in the back line stopping everything and Alex across half back was also good.  The boys were continually going forward with the midfield winning the ball, with Jesse Humphries and Jarred playing great footy, but we just could not finish of our good work. In the end the boys got the reward they deserved and the great celebrations started.

Also a special mention to Mitch. Thanks for sticking around with the team mate we know it could have been alot easier for you to play somewhere else but you didn't and you got the reward you deserved. I know things have not been easy for you mate, but we hope you enjoyed it. hope to see you back down the club with everybody else.

Congratulations and good luck to Jesse Humphries for getting an invite into the league best and fairest with a finish somewhere in the first five.

Last home and away game of the season saw us up against sunshine where it gave ourselves a chance to try a few different things. We set ourselves a goal early to start of well and try and put the score on the board early and that is exactly what we did. Jared Torpy was great great up forward kicking two first quarter goals and getting us of to a good start. The second quarter was more of the same with the boys playing good team football with Jordan Fletcher playing smart across half forward setting up his team mates running past and Chris playing well. In the second half the boys continued the trend with Jafro playing really well up forward. Kyle is to be congratualted for his great game aswell down back after putting in the hard yards on training track and it paid of well. Same also goes to Ryan as well who with a bit more luck and practice could have finished with two goals. Great committment also from Skid and Jackson who took it upon themselves to help out the other team who did not have enough players. Your efforts did not go unnoticed.

Of to West Footscray we went, fully knowing that we were in for a tough game. In what was a hard tough game early, we really had to work hard to try and get our scoreboard ticking over. We had to fight to get our first goal on the board, as we managed to kick the first three goals of the game. West Footscray responded late in the quarter and we went in at quarter time 2 goals in front. The second quarter was always going to be important and we responded well, as we were able to keep West goaless. With Brownlow (Jordan Damon) flying up forward and Chris playing really well we were able to go into half time with a comfortable lead. West Footscray however, were not going to roll over. They responded really well in the third quarter, keeping our boys goaless while kicking three of there own goals. We knew at three quarter time it was game on. The boys responded brilliantly in the last quarter, playing alot smarter and totally dominating the last term. With our team being alot fitter with the extra work we do, we knew we could run away with the game. Thats exactly what we did in the last term with Jarrod playing a great quarter on the ball tagging West best player out of the game while also getting the ball himself. Well done to the team and keep up the good work! Great games by Chris, Don, Josh Williams and Jackson.
