Footscray United all out 252 def Glen Orden 7 for 212
Despite having the advantage going into the second day, the fielding of the Glen Orden Under 15's let them down, at time the half hearted one handed efforts made them look dismal. Leading to giving away runs, when run outs would have been in hand.
It was set to be a great game, but as the first 20 overs dawned, the boys looked like they where lost, with missing players, Collisions, over throws, and dropped catchs all making a huge mark on the game. As the bowling settled the boys managed to get a few wickets, however, the end of the game saw the most extra's ever given by Glen Orden's Under 15's.
All in all today's fielding effort let the boys down after they did a fair job on the first day batting. This puts finals hopes for the boys in the dark.
Next week the play Grand United who is sitting 1st on the ladder in a 2 day game, and the fortnight after they play Sunshine who is sitting 2nd on the ladder in a two day game, which is the last game of the season.
Prior to today's match Glen Orden Under 15's where sitting 6th on the Ladder, with Footscray United sitting 7th, by %.
Good Luck Boys for the next 2 games. You now have a major challenge of trying to knock of the two top teams, to fight your way into the finals.

27th October 2007: Glen Orden 10/142 def Sunshine Heights Miller 10/59
The day started warm with a breeze, which was slightly favoring the bowling team for the day which happened to be us. It was a great start from the opening bowlers Blake and Shannon (who didn’t have the chance to bat being the designated bowler for this week). The first 12 overs bowled only went for 15 runs with 4 wickets falling in this time. Blake ended up with 2 wickets for 3 runs of 6 overs and Shannon had 2 wickets for 8 runs of 6 overs, which was a great start considering this was the first time this season that we bowled. The 1st change saw Michael a new player, who hasn’t played outdoor cricket before collect his first wicket of the season, which is a great sign to see from the youngster, and having Dylan bowling from the other end, was a great opportunity to see if he was a good as he bragged about, coming from Footscray ANA. Dylan almost collected a hat trick but the batsmen blocked the hat trick delivery. Michael ended up with 1 wicket for 8 runs of 4 overs and Dylan 2 wickets for 15 runs of 5 overs. Then came Alex and Emma in the second change, they both collected a wicket, it is a great sign to see all of the bowlers to date collecting a wicket. Alex bowled an excellent spell of 4 overs for 1 run collecting a wicket along the line, and Emma bowling 3 overs for 9 runs with a wicket as well. With 9 wickets down and the opposition on 55 runs, Matty and Jordan came into bowl, Matty bowling extremely well but unlucky not to get a wicket, ended up with figures of 2 overs for 1 run, it was great sign seeing the improvement from him. And then Jordan collecting the last wicket of the day with the help of some very advanced wicket keeping by Alex Nhien.
Special mention to Alex Nhien with a catch and a stumping. And to Jake who took a great catch, at point where I don’t think he even seen the ball coming his direction. The only negative of the day was dropping 2 catches, but on the overall the players stepped up and showed there potential of being a side to beat this year.
till next time Bryce
20th October 2007 : Glen Orden All out 142 V Sunshine Heights Miller Bat on 27th Oct 07.
Ok first game of the year, we started of a bit shaky losing four early wickets, but it was expected because not every one knew where they should bat and what they should do. Without knowing what a par score is, so when we reached 142 I was extremely proud of everyone’s efforts. Both Alex’s batted when they were needed to stabilize the innings which was a good sign for both of them. Putting on a 42 run stand which is good to see them value the wicket so highly. Then the solid brick wall of Matt who batted for 21 overs, which was half of our innings, it is what every team wants to establish a good score. , Jamie and myself were 03-Feb-2008 2:54 PMtnership between Matty and Blake put on a 58 run partnership, this enabled us to get on top of Sunshine Heights and give them a competitive score to chase. Individual efforts that need to be noticed are Top scorer Blake with 32 not out, Alex Nhien with 21 and Matt with 18. There is a few little things that we need to work on but overall it was a great team effort. The team enjoyed themselves and put on a good display of batting.
